Using E-mail
![]() |
The most frequently used application on the
Internet is electronic mail (e-mail). Billions of e-mails world-wide are
sent and received each day. Using your e-mail client (Outlook Express, Gmail,
Hotmail...etc.) is very simple.
1. Open your e-mail client.
2. Click the Create Mail (or similar) button.
3. Fill in the To: field, which is where you
would like to send your e-mail. You can also send this message to many other
recipients at the same time by separating each e-mail address with a comma.
Or, you can use the courtesy copy (Cc:) and blind courtesy copy (Bcc:)
lines. A typical e-mail address structure looks like this:
YourName@ComputerBasicsandBeyond.Com
2. Type in a Subject for your e-mail.
3. Type a message.
4. Click the "Send" button.
As long as you are logged on to the Internet, your e-mail will now be sent
to the designated recipient. The message will sit in the recipients mail
server until they log-in to their e-mail client and retrieve the message.
The message will now be removed from the recipients mail server and stored
on the recipients e-mail client until the message is deleted. Your return
address is automatically sent with your message so the recipient can easily
reply to you.
