Cleaning Your Mouse
Roller Ball Type:
Over time, the dust that accumulates in a work environment will get inside your mouse and make it work very sluggishly. To clean it is a simple task, here's how:
1. Disconnect the mouse from your computer.
2. Turn the mouse upside down and twist the roller ball retaining ring in a
counter-clockwise direction to remove the ring.
3. Remove the roller ball from the mouse cavity.
4. Wash the roller ball with warm soapy water and let it air dry.
5. Moisten a cue tip with a small amount of alcohol. Clean each of the
internal rollers inside the mouse cavity. Continue cleaning these rollers
until all evidence of buildup is removed. If you would like to shoot some
compressed air in to the mouse cavity to remove dust, that is fine. Just
ensure that the cavity is dry before moving to the next step.
6. Replace the dry roller ball back into the mouse cavity.
7. Replace the roller ball retaining ring and twist it clockwise to tighten.
Laser Type Mouse:
A laser type mouse requires very little care. Internally, there isn't anything required of you. If it should get a little dirty on the outside, just dampen a soft cloth with water and wipe it until it is clean.
